Tania, Du mußt das unbedingt aufgeben! Es ist so gesundheitsschädlich! Die Uhr tickt und es ist unmöglich, in der Zeit rückwärts zu gehen!

A slow way of committing suicide and a filthy, dirty disgusting habit! My mother died a horrible death with oral cancer and both of my grandfathers and one of my aunts died of smoking related illnesses too. My aunt was only 40! The tobacco barons are criminals, but the law cannot touch them. They know that their "coffin nails", as I call them, ruin people's health and cost lives, but they do not care. For years this vile habit was seen as fashionable and sophisticated. My poor mother said it made her feel sophisticated to be seen smoking and movie stars often reinforced that vile habit. The buses were like mobile gas chambers. Your clothes stank, if you could not find a seat downstairs. Wallpaper and paintwork, which should have been white, turned a disgusting shade of yellow. The grip of tobacco on a person was unrelenting. A man might go out and get drunk a couple of times a week, but be sober the rest of the time, but the urge to smoke was unrelenting. My husband used to smoke more than 40 "cancer sticks" per day and, if he had not managed to quit the habit, I would be a widow now. It is a terrible addiction and people do not realize the grip that tobacco has on them, until they try to quit the habit. I urge any young people reading this never to start. If you never have a first, you will never want a second! To those in the grip of this vile weed, throw them away or stamp on them, but make sure you never have them in your house again. And do not allow anyone to smoke in your house or you will probably be tempted to start again. Think in your mind of a connection between these "coffin nails" and the crematorium. Maybe that might help you stop. The good news is that the likelihood of developing lung cancer drops as soon as you give up tobacco and five years down the line, your likelihood of developing it is only a little higher than in a person who has never smoked. But better, so much better, never to start in the first place!
